The Captain woke us up this morning with the announcement of our late arrival but to make up for it instead of all on board at 4:30 it would be all on board at 7pm. He also said all tours would take place for the same duration and they were working on time changes for the tours. We had a tour at 1:20pm and it got pushed back to 2:20pm. The sail into Corner Brook is very scenic and it is like sailing into a Norwegian fjord.
Turning into the fjord leading to Corner Brook.
We have been here before and it really is a very small place with not much to do. since we did not have to meet until 2:20 we got off around 11:30 and walked the short distance into town. We walked through the town square which had a few tents with handicrafts from the locals. Everyone is very nice and very welcoming.
This is in the center of town.
They have several walking trails around town and we took a short one. The high was only 76 today but in the sun it felt much hotter.

We headed back to the boat around 1:30 and grabbed a bite to eat before our 2:20 tour. The weather was threatening rain.
This was from our balcony around 1:30pm
When we left to go meet our tour it started pouring and while we both had rain jackets and umbrellas it came down so fast and hard that we both got drenched. We got picked up right on time and driven to a place that is a ski resort in the winter but also does zip-lining all year round.
You can see the ski slopes and the rain.
We waited for about an hour and every time we thought the rain had stopped it would start up again. The zip-line folks said this was unusual rain for them.
Us with our gear on.
It finally stopped raining and they loaded us all in a van, there were 10 of us. They drove us up a mountain and dropped us off. We had about 6 guides with us. They did a safety briefing and told us there would be 9 zip lines with the last one being the longest and the fastest.
Kathy zip-lining
The place we were zip-lining over is a giant canyon with a huge waterfall (made much stronger by the rain) and a river below us. It kept raining on and off and at this point we all looked like drowned rats.
This is me coming in for a landing. The 9 lines go back and forth on the canyon until you get to the bottom. Most of the places had a ramp you walked down before going out into the air. There was 1 that you just stepped off into space and I was not fond of that one but I did it.
You can see the big waterfall on the right. I wish I could have gotten a better picture of it but I would have had to taken my hands off the harness, gotten my camera out and then put it back before stopping. Take our word for it, it was incredible.
The final platform. Then you walked a short distance back to the shop where they took you out of your rig and we loaded back up in the van and back to the boat.
Sailing away from Corner Brook.
Next stoop is St Anthonys Newfoundland.
Oh No, no no!
My fear of heights just went in to overdrive!
