Wrap Up

August 6th, 2024

Just wrapping up our latest adventure.

We are glad we went to the airport in Barcelona as early as we did since there were huge lines and tons of delays. Apparently Dallas had some bad weather the last few days and flights had been canceled there the day before and more were being cancelled. It did not affect us but it did make the lines longer. We had plenty of time and made new friends while in the line. It did not help that there were 5 cruise ships in Barcelona on Monday so tons of activity at the airport.

We boarded on time but did have a 40 minute delay on the tarmac. The only issue with that was how hot the plane was sitting in the direct sun. I watched 4 movies on the ride home and took a brief nap and finished my 6th book of the trip. Kathy watched 4 also but we usually try to watch the same ones but I really wanted to see Dune part II and Kathy had no interest so she watched what she wanted.

We flew into Miami and got there around 5:30, on schedule. We checked with our neighbor to see what the situation was at home since hurricane Debbie was headed our way when we took off. We got the report that all was well and power had been off for a few hours but was now back on. That was a relief because my biggest concern was getting home to no power and being hot and miserable.

We had a long planned layover in Miami sow e did not leave until 11pm and we got into Tallahassee at 12:30. We ubered home and all at the house was fine. There were a few branches down so some yard clean-up is needed but no damage.

Our new Trex deck was completed while we were gone so we went out and looked at that and it looks great.

Thank you all for flooding along and for your comments, they are much appreciated and lets us know that someone out there is actually reading our efforts. Again it is also a good reminder to us of where we have been and what we have done.

Right now we don’t have anything planned until December when we will use the nice credit that Viking gave us to do a Christmas market cruise on the Rhine. We have always wanted to do one and we figured the credit was a good excuse plus it is our 40th anniversary!. We will start in Amsterdam and end in Basel. Switzerland. We will probably blog so stay tuned and if something else comes up between now and then we will post here so you will know that we are out and about again.

Thank you all again!!
