Tangier, Morroco

August 1st, 2024

We did not arrive in port until noon and we had a Princess tour booked to take us to the northwestern tip of Morocco’s Atlantic coast. The town is called Asilah and was a 60 minute ride from the port. Last time we were here which was 3 months ago we toured the old town so we wanted to do something different. We passed a very large soccer stadium.

Our guide told us that Morocco was hosting the world cup in 2025.

We also passed tons of beaches that were packed with beach goers.

We even saw camels on the beach.

Not sure what this guy was doing.

We arrived at the town and had a walking tour through the city. The city was painted all white and had lots of murals on the walls and lots of vendors selling trinkets.

Some of the murals on the walls

The white washed walls with a little bit of bougainvillea.

Lots of Moroccan style doors and tiled floors.

Tons of beach goers

More doors

More street art.

We had about 30 minutes after their walking tour to shop if we wanted but there really was nothing we needed so we found some shade and waited for the meeting time.

We made it back to the boat a little after 5pm.

This was from the boat and you can see all the people on the beach. Since the sun does not set until after 9 there is plenty of beach time.

A view of Tangier as we sail away. Last time we sailed away from Tangier we were with friends in a front suite room enjoying the view.

Sunset after leaving Tangier.

Next stop is Malaga, Spain
