Auckland, New Zealand (Day 43)

February 4th, 2024

Another great day. Clear blue skies and high of 73. Since we did not have a tour this am we slept in a little bit and got off the boat about 10am. We got a couple of scooters down at the pier to go around the city.

My scooter Kathys scooter had a seat.

We went around town and took almost the same route that the tour bus took us the other day. We had no plan but to explore town.

We did find a barber shop and got haircuts along the way. The guy was great and not sure Kathy was planning on one but she got one also. The listed price was 40 dollars per person but for some reason he only charged us 30 each.

Adam cutting both our hair.

After we got hair cuts we rode our scooters up to the top of Queen street which is the big shopping street in town. We found a nice burger joint to eat in for lunch.

After lunch we walked down Queen street and went through a nice park with a playground set and Kathy decided to swing a little.

We stopped in a nice big square to see a puppet show. The show was not starting until 3pm and we got there at 1:30 so we decided to go do a little retail therapy. Getting bored with some of my shorts and t-shirts so made a few clothing purchases. We went back to the puppet show and they asked for volunteers to help man the puppet ropes so I volunteered.

The puppet giant.

After the show we walked back down Queen street. Queen street is high end shopping.

Some of the stores on Queen street Convenience store right next to Louboutin store

I figured the convenience store was probably pretty expensive on the real estate they are on.

Some more shots of buildings

We made it back to the boat by 4:40 and all on board at 5pm.

getting ready to go back on board.

We had to go hunt down our favorite bartender Aaron. They move them every month or so and we have to find where the next assignment is. Unfortunately for us he is now stationed in the night club at night and we do not frequent their mush at all. May have to wait for the next rotation.

Sail away was nice and smooth and we had dinner in the World Cafe (buffet) so could could catch up with other peoples time in Auckland.

Beautiful, calm sail away.

Last view of Auckland. It was a great visit.

when we got back to our room Viking had left us a cute present on our bed.

On our way to Rotorua and we have 150 miles to sail so we will go pretty slowly. Expecting a little warmer weather and full sunshine.
