Today was a beautiful hot day in Costa Rica. We had nothing planned so we got up and made our way off the boat to walk around town some. We had been told that lots of things would be closed since it was a holiday. We stayed mainly on the street bordering the beach and there were lots of vendors and food carts.

The beaches do not compare with Florida beaches but there were lots of people at the beach. They were camping out and having barbecues and lots of people in the water.
We walked around for about 2 hours and debated on getting a local drink called a Churchill. we watched several being made but did not actually get one but the carts were all over the beach. They take shaved ice and put cherry syrup on it and then add powdered milk, more ice and more syrup and then add sweetened condensed milk to the top. In this heat they were quite popular.

We went back to the boat for lunch and on our way back to the boat we saw several small eagle rays feeding off the dock.

We spent the afternoon reading and we had a great sunset off our balcony.
We had dinner in the Italian restaurant and when we got back to the room we noticed that the boat was very close to land. We watched from the balcony and they lowered a tender and we saw 2 people get on the tender. We assume medical emergency but we never saw a stretcher. Good thing we have 4 days at sea.
